Blocking and Side Stepping were the focus for the third week of January. Students practiced applying various high and low blocks from Closing Stance and Ready Stance, with and without side stepping. Be patient and don't be afraid to go slow when learning side stepping. it takes hard work and many reps to begin to feel comfortable with the footwork and how to correctly apply the technique.
Today, students in the beginning and intermediate levels practiced thrusting kicks. Here's Joel driving a side thrust kick into the kicking shield.
